- Watch what you eat.

Aside from the burns and cuts that you might get from summer outdoor activities like grilling and camping, long hours spent outdoors also mean skin irritations from wild plants and lots of pesky insect bites. Be mindful of bumps or swelling that don’t go away after a while or those that grow in size, and seek medical attention immediately. Stock up on your insect repellants, or if you can, wear clothing that covers up exposed skin. You might be tempted to turn up the air conditioning during the high heat of noon on those unbearable summer days, but bear in mind that you just might be degrading your indoor air quality while you’re at it.
