Writing New Year’s Resolution is one thing but actually doing it is another. We bet you wrote down “getting fit” and “have a healthier lifestyle” in your planner yet it’s already summer and you haven’t even touched the workout clothes you purchased; which you thought would give you that extra push. If you’re still looking for the perfect workout to suit your personality and hectic schedule, we give you the old and the new exercise to try out. Ready? Let’s go!

1. Flyweight Group Boxing Studio

Flyweight is boxing with a group that combines shadowboxing, heavy bag work and body weight, core and footwork exercises for that full body workout. There are three types of classes- Contender, a class for beginners, Challenger, six rounds of combos on the heavy bag with Isometrics and Plyometrics and Champion, the most intense as it has nine rounds with burpees, jump squats and plank variations. Whew! If you’re a parent, you’ll be glad to know that classes are offered to as young as 12 years old that means this workout is something you and your child can do as a bonding activity! 2. Electric Studio

The first and largest indoor cycling studio in the country has gained popularity even for first time riders. Why so? Because it’s not just about the 45-minute high intensity low impact cardio workout that you signed up for, it’s also about building a fitness family –riders, instructors and even the crew ensure that everyone enjoys the electric spirit with no one getting left behind. Aside from fitness, convenience is also their top priority which is why booking a ride is just a few clicks away and everything else will be provided-cycling shoes, towels, water, lockers, toiletries and bananas.

We’re not just talking about the ride as most riders are also after the session’s playlist. Take note, you will never hear the same set of music twice! Beginners may opt to join the Jumpstart class where riders learn the essentials in 45 minutes. Then you can level up to Pure Electric, their signature 45-minute ride, Power Hour (60-minutes) and the intense Electric Endurance (90minutes).  You are in for a treat with their themed rides- from Taytay to Britney and MJ, and throwback music from the 80s and 90s! What’s more is that they have a live DJ bringing in some high-energy beats in their evening class. How do you prepare? Keep yourself hydrated, eat at least 2 hours before and arrive 30 minutes before class. They suggest leaving everything behind including your mobile phone, as you’re about to enter the electric world-where your bike is your weapon.
