In relation to our previous article “Five Indoor Activities to Keep The Blues Away This Rainy Season ” we’ve listed down some of the most comforting dishes from our favorite restaurants this July for those who’d rather eat than play during the gloomiest days.

1. French Flair (P390) and Aussie Burger (P380) from Boutique Burger Kitchen (BBK)

Made with a combination of US Angus and Wagyu, Chef Carlo Miguel serves burgers that are juicy and bursting with flavor. The French Flair is perfect for those who love crunch in their burgers; it has gruyere cheese, dijon mustard, french fried onions, bacon, and mushroom in it. But if pineapples are your thing, go for the The Aussie Burger which has cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, fried egg, beetroot, pineapple, grilled onions, and BBQ sauce or BBK ketchup.

Boutique Burger Kitchen is located at The Fort Strip, 26th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

2. Clam Chowder Ramen from Ippudo

Rich and soulful, the Clam Chowder Ramen is Ippudo’s newest limited edition ramen. What makes this unique are the thick noodles flavored with black pepper and the special blend of their signature tonkotsu broth enhanced with bechamel sauce and truffle oil that is finally topped with fresh clams and lots of parmesan cheese. Now, doesn’t that sound truly comforting?

Find Ippudo in the following locations: SM Megamall, Uptown Place Mall, Robinson’s Place Manila, SM Mall of Asia, Eastwood City, Robinson’s Galleria

3. Green Chicken (P229) from Palm Grill

The Green Chicken was inspired by a famous indo-malay dish, slow cooked in coconut milk and 7 asian spices then grilled to perfection. You can’t go wrong with this one, especially once you pair it with Palm Grill’s Turmeric Rice and Roasted Cauliflower with Orange Slices. Orders come in three sizes: Solo (1/4 chicken with rice and one side), Duo (1/2 chicken with two sides), and League (1 whole chicken with three sides).

Palm Grill is located at 175 Tomas Morato Avenue, Scout Castor, Tomas Morato, Quezon City

4. Sweet Corn Cappuccino (P129) from Fireside by Kettle

Have you ever tried drinking your soup the way you drink your coffee? It’s basically comfort in a cup. The Sweet Corn Cappuccino is Fireside’s cream of corn and lemongrass soup served in a cup, topped with milk foam, and finished off with some popcorn salt. It’s like nothing you’ve ever tried before, I promise you that.

Fireside by Kettle has branches in Rockwell, SM Megamall, and Central Square, Bonifacio High Street.

5. Quattro Formaggi (P620) and Margherita (P580) Pizza from Salvatore Cuomo

What kind of list would this be if it didn’t have pizza, right? And for me, Salvatore Cuomo’s are just some of the best! It’s perfect if you really want to spoil yourself since it’s not your typical pizza place; this one’s offers premium casual dining, but it’s definitely worth every buck, because they source only the best raw materials and ingredients for their dishes! Just recently, they started offering a lunch menu to provide a lighter, more affordable fare, so there’s no reason not to make Salvatore Cuomo your next comfort food destination!

Salvatore Cuomo and Bar is located at Ground Floor, Uptown Parade, 9th Avenue Corner 38th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

6. Soft Shell Crab (P430) or Ryujin “Dragon God of the Sea” Roll (P480) at Hamaru

If you’re looking for the best sushi joint in Quezon City, this is it! “Staying true to its name which means “go crazy over,” Hamaru is seriously crazy to fill and surprise you beyond imagination. It’s not just a restaurant nor a bar, it’s a modern izakaya that will soon be your casual go-to place for both Japanese food and drinks!Have a go at the Hamaru Soft Shell Crab Roll which is topped with crab meat tossed in aligue mayo and tobiko, or the Ryujin “Dragon God of the Sea” Roll which is all about fried tiger prawn, salmon, and tuna with gochujang mayo and yuzu topped with avocado and shitake tempura.

Hamaru Yakitori & Sushi is located inside The Food Hive, 80 Visayas Avenue, Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

7. Wagyu Burger Steak (P380) and Tenderloin Beef Salpicao (P380) from Bluesmith Coffee

Bluesmith is the ULTIMATE comfort food restaurant in my book. It is an all-day breakfast place that has pretty much everything from waffles, pasta, soups, sandwiches, and rice meals! My favorites though are the Wagyu Burger Steak and Tenderloin Beef Salpicao, both juicy and tender, and the best part, flavorful! The Wagyu Burger Steak comes with a thick milk gravy, sunny side egg caramelized onions, while the Tenderloin Beef Salpicao is served with marbled potatoes, worcestershire sauce, and lots of toasted garlic. Both dishes come with rice!

Find Bluesmith Coffee and Kitchen at the following locations:

Second Floor, Corte Area, Ayala Malls The 30th, Meralco Avenue, Ugong, Pasig City

Ground Floor, MJ Corporate Plaza, 2310 Pasong Tamo Extension, Magallanes, Makati City3

Here’s pastry chef Miko Aspiras’ latest creation at his workshop at Le Petit Soufflé in Megamall – the Basque Burnt Cheesecake. Unlike the usual cheesecake, this one is baked at high temperatures to get a caramelized almost burnt top, leaving the inside soft, fluffy, and creamy. It is served with dulce de Leche pecans and best paired with a cup of coffee.

Workshop Bespoke Bakery is located inside Le Petit Souffle, Mega Fashion Hall, Mandaluyong City. Call 029446541 to order the Basque Burnt Cheesecake advance.
